Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) are the leading cause
of impairment in the United States, with a reported
2.2 million emergency department visits, 280k
hospitalizations, and 50k deaths attributed to a
TBI in a given year. The repercussions of such an
injury can be far-reaching and devastating to an
individual and their loved ones.

The TBI Panel Symposium intends to educate
students, professionals, and relevant populations
about vital topics concerning TBI, for the
betterment of professional and public awareness.
Faculty members from the Eastern Washington
University Departments of Psychology, Social
Work, Communication Disorders, and Disability
Studies are presenting, in addition to a TBI
Survivor Panel.
The keynote speech and the main panel
presentation will consist of expert faculty from
Eastern Washington University, Washington State
University, and professionals practicing in the Spokane
area in an open discussion format with aQ&A segment.
