Hello friends I wanted to get people's ideas about how to deal with my lack of motivation and initiating activities.  It is so frustrating and it is beginning to be a problem with family.  I really feel bad to say this, but I could stay home all day and stare at a tv screen.  It is so hard to break out of that.See More

Hi Kitten, Nice get your comment and reply and to hear some of your story. Interesting that your into holistic medicine and trance music (hope I remembered those right).  So much can change in us after our brain must rewire what's left of it and for each person it's different.  I haven't yet had a chance to put much of my story on this site yet but have placed some on my myspace website and my other music site, both in the bio part of my music website.

Sorry to hear about your fall.  I suffered a severe TBI in a car crash on my way to work about 7 1/2 years ago and had to relearn everything: walk, talk, see, hear, swallow, all with a pretty damaged body and brain, after coming out of a coma.

I am very thankful and lucky to be alive and try to be aware of even the smallest of good, if I can.  Regarding doctors, I think you're right as far as their prescribing.  There are more ways for sure.  One thing I found to work best for pain turned out to be fish oil with omega.  I find exercise important too and greatly encourage that as best you can.  Difficult for me with constant dizziness and vertigo but I must push myself.

For a long time after my TBI I didn't listen to much music and even now listen to my own more than others.  I meditate about twice a day and early on that was for hours.  I would listen to nature and things like ocean waves, etc. tapes that were relaxing.

See what you think of my music if you would like and I understand if you'd rather not.  Taking care of yourself is always important so do the best you can.

I see you are from Illinois.  Are you far from Madison, Wisconsin?

Take care Kitten!
