I like your blog. This stuff about bad brain days is interesting. I'm a 'carer' for my partner. When he was still pretty much in ambulant post-traumatic amnesia, my car blew a tyre and he got out in the dark and fixed it with little help from me. Some time later, when he was much more alert, and in day time, another tyre blew. Again he fixed it with no problems. Last night, however, a tyre blew and he got the spare tyre out and put it on ... backwards, with the bolts in backwards as well. The car made an awful screeching but his injury slows his responses and he kept on driving and parked it carefully. This morning we went back to the car and found that the valve had been ripped out of the tyre but that nothing else was damaged. We were able to repair the first tyre (which a screw had penetrated) and to replace the valve. I don't have a brain injury but I still get days like the day you describe, however I must say that I am in awe of the one my partner appears to have had last night. It may be that he has been thinking very hard and working very hard to regain his linux computer skills and simply overdid it. He was quite upset at my curiosity and desire to pinpoint what could have happened. He said that he felt that anyone could have put a tyre on backwards. I admit that I probably could myself, but I know of no-one else and our car mechanic who has been in the business about 40 years says that he has never ever come across this kind of treatment of a tyre before. When I told my partner that he kind of accepted it. He had thought that I was chastising him, but I wasn't, but I could understand that it was pretty hard for him to accept. Maybe he felt the way I have felt on the odd occasion that I have made medication mistakes as a nurse; they are really hard to explain to oneself.
I'm sorry that I didn't join the chat. I think that my computer must keep me signed in even when I don't realize it. I'm still trying to figure out this website. I would love to chat sometime! I hope you had an awesome day!
