Survivng a major TBI, coma, and relearning LIFE again at 21...

Hello everyone:

I just wanted to share some amazing information with you. After having this accident, major TBI, coma, and then eventually relearn everything over again at 21 I was able to move forward with my life (like a normal human-being... THAT is not easy, but w/ hard work ANYTHING is possible. YEARS AFTER THE ACCIDENT, I wrote and published a book called, "MY MIRACLE" that talks about before, during, after, and up to this point if my life. You can visit http://SharingMiracles.net, Authorhouse.com and other websites and see and read about the book. It has amazing photos of before, during (rehab), and after. People have told me the book has opened their eyes to a whole new world and has even helped them with their problems, accidents, and life... Please, if you are going through some kind of change in your life read about my life because I have lived through SOME MAJOR CHANGES and this book just might help you in yours... I hope and pray that you have a wonderful day/evening. Your friend, Rodney

it is not easy starting over is it

Hello Rodney, I am writing on behalf of my little girl, Amy Sue, who is 10 years old.  Amy Sue was hit by a truck January 2010 when she was 8 years old and now suffers from a catastrophic traumatic brain injury!  We are still in the recovery and rehab process...although she has not been able to receive inpatient rehab.  I am looking for resources, doctors, rehabs, and basically any and all information I can get on TBI.  If you willing to share anything it would be greatly appreciated.  Amy's website www.caringbridge.com/visit/amysueroot

Thank You & God Bless

Susan Root

its more than relearning it is about discovering who we are now, or who we would like to be it could be looked at like a new chance to re invent ourselves into something incredible if we let it, it is a hard road but what does not kill us makes us stronger so they say
Great words, my friend! I strive to be a better person and hope that God allows me to find every door that opens for me... Thank you for your words!

Hello Susan, I FEEL FOR YOU AND AMY! I was there and had to live through it ALL... My book that I just published speaks for itself! I have been told it has changed the way some people look at life (in a better way now). I hope and pray that Amy gets all the help she needs and overcomes this TBI... I will visit your website. Take care and God Bless, Rodney.

You are so right, but if we put our minds, hearts, souls, spirits, strenghts, and God into it ANYTHING is possible!

Rodney,

I am interested in looking into your book more, but for now I just had two questions for you.

1.  How long were you in a coma?

2.  How long before you really began to feel indepedent again?

Hi Shayleen,

Thank YOU for checking out my post and emailing me! I HAD to tell everyone about my STORY/ACCIDENT/LIFE so that maybe I CAN HELP THEIR LIVES.......  For your first question, it felt (looking back) like forever!!! The first two weeks, I WAS NOT ON THIS PLANET (haha), then soon after that I was able to come out of the coma....... YOU GOTTA READ THE BOOK (haha)..... AND second, it took me a few years until I started to feel my independence... IT WAS A LONG HARD ROAD, but I WAS determined to SUCCEED....... Whatever you might be going through or someone you know I hope, wish, and pray the best for you!!! PLEASE, read, "MY MIRACLE" because I HAVE HAD PEOLPE from all over the world tell me how much the book has given them hope and understanding about their situation......... Let me know if you need anymore information... That is why I am still HERE, to help..............

Thank you Rodney!  I purchased the book yesterday through Amazon so hopefully I get it in the next few days.  And also, thank you for your response.  My boyfriend was injured almost a year ago and his non-medically induced coma lasted just over 5 weeks.  I'm trying to get more insight on progression and healing as we move forward.  I look forward to reading your book and learning more.  Thank you again, and kudos to you for recovering and sharing with us all!
Hi Rodney, thanks for sharing this, all of us from all over make such a difference in each others lives it is amazing

Hi Marcus:

Thank you for emailing me about this! It is So amazing how we can ALL work to help each other who are going through such major changes in our lives. God has truly blessed me, allowed me to recover 90%, move forward w/ my life, and write/publish this book that has HELPED a lot of people so far. Just hearing from people about "My Miracle" it makes me feel so good inside knowing that my book is changing lives for the better. So, good luck on your future and be safe! take care my friend! Rodney
